What if I have to miss a class?
All live lectures are recorded and available for playback.
What is the schedule?
Classes generally meet two nights per week, for two hours each class. The entire program is generally completed in nine months.
What is the grading policy?
Students are issued a pass/fail based upon a weighted average of exams given during each course. Students must achieve a grade of 70% or higher to pass each course. If a student fails to achieve a 70% for a course, the student must repeat that course.
How is testing administered?
Generally, two exams are given for each course. Students will take an online midterm and final exam for each course. The midterm is 40% of the final grade and the final exam is 60%. Students must achieve a 70% for each course in order to receive a passing grade.
What if I fail an exam?
If students fail an exam, they will have an opportunity to take a makeup exam. The makeup exams are different versions testing the same content. Extra credit projects may be available if students score a failing grade on makeup exams.
For students that still don’t have a passing score for the course after the makeup exam, they will be required to repeat the course. There will be a four week sit out period where students will be instructed to go back through the recorded classes to retake the course before they are permitted to take a new midterm and final exam. The new midterm and final exams will be third versions of the exams.
What are the system requirements?
It is recommended that students have an operating system Windows 7 or higher or Mac OS 10.6 or higher.
Students must be able to run, install, and configure programs and be able to store and retrieve documents and files on their computer. If you are unsure if you have appropriate permissions to save files to your computer, please contact your system administrator.

What is the rollover policy?
In a continued effort to demonstrate our commitment to students' success, we will be implementing new policies to our virtual CFP education program. The following policies will go into effect January 1, 2018.

  • Students are allowed one complimentary rollover at no charge to one of the two next upcoming start dates (cohorts) from the original enrollment cohort.
  • Students requiring extensions beyond two cohorts of original enrollment will pay a $250 fee for each extension required.
  • Students needing reinstatement after an extended break from the program will pay a $250 reinstatement fee.
  • Students need to complete their enrolled education program within four years of enrollment. If students do not complete within the four years, they may re-enroll at the full program price.
For example, if you enrolled in the January 2018 cohort, you may roll over to the March 2018 or May 2018 cohort at no cost. If you choose to roll to the July 2018 cohort, you would pay a $250 extension fee.
How long do I have access to the program?
Students have access to the program for 9 months. Upon successful completion of the program, students will have access to the program for an additional three months.
